Osborne House

Osborne House on the north of the Isle of Wight, was the palatial holiday residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

You can visit Queen Victoria and Albert's private apartments, their own private bathing beach and their children's play-cottage for an intimate glimpse of royal family life in the bygone era. You can also stroll through the garden terraces where there are stunning views across the Solent which reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples.

This royal stamp of approval brought many famous Victorians to visit and settle on the Island. Alfred Lord Tennyson, Charles Dickens, Lewis Carroll and John Keats are just a few of the historical greats who were inspired by this "Enchanted Isle".
